Being able to shoot the ball accurately is paramount to success in NBA 2K18. But unforunately, 2K tries to hinder your success in myCareer with a system called the "Anti Green Protection". The mechanism works like this. If the difficulty is low enough, and you time a shot perfectly, the release will say "slightly late" or "slightly early" depending on what your release speed is set on. These releases when the bar is full miss 100% of the time. A counter for this is aiming for good releases instead of excellent releases. Good releases meaning there is a little slither of space between the bar and when you released. You won't get as many green beans, but you won't run the risk of having those 0% shots either.
The best thing to do is to find a release point on a jumper that gives you good releases every time. Maybe releasing at the forehead, neck, or above the head would yield those results depending on what base you use for your jumper.
What is scary is that this may also apply to layups. We rarely see the layup meter, but we do know layups need to be timed to go in. Could this system be causing people to miss layups too?
